Michelle Obama Visits the Sunnyside Stand at New Farmers’ Market Opening
The First Lady launches White House farmers’ market to help promote local and sustainable agriculture
The First Lady opened the White House Market on September 17, 2009 before stopping at The Farm at Sunnyside’s stand to purchase an assortment of our organic vegetables. The visit is part of Mrs. Obama’s campaign to promote local, fresh and healthy food and to counter childhood obesity.
